Myssyfarmi is a proud partner of Mielinauha 2024 campaign and supports mental health in Finland through exclusive campaign products. Mielinauha is a campaign of MIELI Mental Health Finland aiming to promote discussion about mental health and raise funds for mental health work. The campaign theme of the year is consolation. Myssy has gone through some pretty rough times and we have had our share of consolation. Now it is time to give. We support everyone in difficult situation to be open about it and ask for help. For every campaign product sold we donate 10eur to the campaign.
Our products designed for the campaign are Hyvä Myssy beanie and Paha Päivä t-shirt that have been completed in collaboration with artist Samu Haber and MIELI. In the Finnish language “hyvä” and “paha” are contradictions good and bad. Hyvä Myssy beanie is our bestseller Muffi in five campaign colors. Hyvä will bring some joy and goodness as every products holds a unique handwritten note by a Myssy Granny inside the beanie - consolation greetings. Paha Päivä t-shirt holds the name of Samu Haber’s new song “bad day”. This hand-embroidered t-shirt is a new opening for Myssy: It has been produced by a Finnish manufacturer in Portugal of organic cotton and embroidered with hand-dyed Finnsheep wool in Pöytyä. The t-shirt holds and idea about respecting others and being open about difficulties, it can be worn on good days just as well as bad days to remind all of us about consolation - being compassionate towards oneself and each other.
“For us it was honor to be asked to join the campaign as Samu Haber’s team and Mieli ry introduced us with the idea. Mental health is a very important and current topic, the urgent need for help keeps growing. I personally find it important to be open about this topic. As an entrepreneur I have gone through some really difficult times and in contradiction to all the adversities, I have also received a lot of compassion and help. In Finland an entrepreneur is sort of an outlaw in so many situations and speaking about standing all the difficulties is kind of a tabu still” says the CEO of Myssy Anna Rauhansuu and continues “Actually knitting has been proven to hold some positive effects on mental health and my dear hobby cold swimming as well. In this campaign we will also talk about these subjects and perhaps also our grannies want tell their stories. I support everyone to make the topic of mental health visible, normalize talking about it and give their support to this campaign”
The Mielinauha campaign aims to promote discussion about mental health and raise funds for mental health work and crisis support in Finland. With the world's crises and economic situation, the need for crisis work and youth mental health services has particularly increased. Mielinauha campaign raises funds April 3rd-June 30th 2024. You can participate by buying a campaign product or by directly donating.
MIELI Mental Health Finland is a mental health organization whose mission is to promote mental health, provide crisis support and prevent mental health issues. We want to build a society in which people can talk about mental health safely and without stigma.
