Tapio Shorts, woolen race pants

We are honored to continue the Finnish saga of granny-made global woolen race pants: Tapio Shorts will keep you warm, wherever you sail or ski around the globe! 

Inspiration for these woolen pants came from the true story of Tapio Lehtinen sailing around the world twice in a pair of woolen pants knitted by his grandma Tyyne. Myssy Grannies knitted 12 pairs of custom-made woolen race pants for captain Lehtinen and the Galiana sailing crew to keep them warm on the cold seas of ongoing Ocean Globe Race. Feedback has been very positive, pants have served the crew well and kept them warm in 8°C degree storms. Can testing woolen pants get any harder than that?

Note: Knitting needles are not included, but you can order them separately here. Tapio Shorts are knitted with 3mm and 4mm with needles. The length of the needles depends on weather you knit with magic loop technique or not.

THIS IS HOW YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE: Hand-knitted woolen pants stretch to fit you perfectly and the sizes are flexible. Choosing the right size you need to know what kind of use are ment for: If you use Tapio shorts as shorts the size should be rather larger than smaller, so they will not fit too tight on the front to make you feel awkward. If the shorts will be used as a middle layer, choose a smaller size as the knitting will stretch and fit well under technical layers. The is a stretching rubber band on the waist line that can be adjusted.
