    The third official Finnish Knitting Championships will be held in Pöytyä on Sat 20th  September 2025. The event has sold out two years in a row and established itself as a forum for serious knitters to meet. Early Bird price:  44€ until June 30th, after which the fee is 54€.

    Sprint and Elite Series
    In the Sprint category  thick needles, bulky yarn, and an easy pattern will take about an hour to finnish for the fastest one. 
    In the Elite Class both needles and yarn are thinner, and the best knitters will complete the task in about three hours. The details of the pattern will be revealed on the competition day. 

    The rules are clear and the prizes generous – the winners will receive a grand prize worth €250. A maximum of 200 participants can join. Measurements, density, evenness and finalization of the knit work are evaluated.  Unlike previous years, the Sprint category now also requires the row count to match, not just the stitch count. 

    SCHEDULE AND PARTICIPATION
    The competition will be held on Saturday 20th September  from 12:00 to 17:00, and registration will begin at 10:30. The knitting pattern may be opened 15 minutes before the start. The venue is Kisariihi (Yläneentie 66, Riihikoski).

    Registration takes place at Myssyfarmi web shop:
    Early Bird price: 44€ until June 30th, after which the fee is 54€.
    The participation fee includes competition entry and a competition bag.

    THE 2025 KNITTING CHAMPIONSHIPS BAG INCLUDES (VALUE €128):
    - Finnsheep wool yarn for the competition knitwork
    - You get to keep the knit work after judging
    - Pattern for the competition knit work
    - Tools: needles and darning needles
    - New Fiskars scissors
    - A copy of Laine magazine
    - Beverages and snacks during the competition

    A maximum of 200 participants can join, so book your place early.

    Cancellation policy:70% refund if cancelled 14 days before, 50% refund if cancelled 7 days before.

    WELCOME! THE BEST KNITTER SHALL WIN!

    All our garments are made of 100% Finnsheep wool and dyed by hand here at our Farm. Wool is a natural material that keeps itself clean. The lanolin - wool’s grease - naturally repels both dirt and water, hence it is not necessary to wash your Myssy garments. 

    You can freshen up your garment by airing it out. However, if your Myssy product does get dirty or stretches out, it can be carefully hand-washed or machine-washed with a high-quality wool program. The garment should be dried flat and shaped while still wet. This way the product will recover its original appearance. Use special wool detergent.

    Note: Myssy products cannot be washed in regular low-temperature washing machine programs. Only a high-quality wool program is acceptable for washing your Myssy, this way the water temperature is increased in proper increments, and the garment won’t get felted.
