Myssy x Hildur beanie has been designed in collaboration with our Myssy Friend, author Satu Rämö. The beanie has been knitted by a Myssy Grannies of chunky blood red 100% Finnsheep yarn. It will stand the wind no matter are you in the fjords or downtown.
Hildur needs no introductions! This Icelandic criminal detective surfs and solves crimes in more than 30 languages in Satu Rämö’s hit series of books placed in the Western Fjords. Hildur has grown into an international phenomenon. It’s easy to imagine the surfing police officer wearing this beanie all year round in her adventures at the fjords. There is similar nonconformist power and outsider spirit in both Hildur and Myssy. Also Rämö has walked her own paths as an author and Myssy is a perfect fit for this boss lady of ours.
Hildur loves to dress in her weather repellent Icelandic sweaters, but when it comes to beanies, soft Finnsheep wool is the solution. Maybe Jakob brought it to her from Finland? The fifth part of the series “Tinna” is launch Oct 24th in Finnish at the same time with this beanie.
Production
All of our garments are made from Finnsheep wool, produced in conjunction with our responsible partners. Similar in softness to Merino, the fiber's overlapping scales point inward making the yarn particularly soft, and in our opinion, there is no finer wool in the world!
High quality garments and accessories are hand-knit by local retired ladies known as The Myssy Grannies. These cheerful ladies are the essence of our brand, knitting their own positive energy and wisdom into every stitch, even hand signing each Myssy piece they finish.
Size
This Myssy is One Size / M and it fits 85% of our customers. It fits well for hat sizes between 54 to 59 cm. Each Myssy is unique, and though all our grannies work off from the same size chart, not all hats are precisely the same.
All Myssy hats should feel a little tight in the beginning, the hat adjusts to the size and shape of your head within the first week of use.
If you are unsure of the size or you know you will need a larger size, you can always leave a comment while sending your order in and let us know you would like to have a bigger variation. We will do our best to take this into account!

Super light & super warm:-) It keeps me perfectly warm , when its freezing outside. People with very sensitive skin, need maybee a different model, with a different yarn. I love the rough icelandic yarn of my icelandic sweaters and the Kallio Halla-huppu is as warm and protective as they are. So I am very, very happy:-) And I do no longer need an extra scarf in wintertime;-)
Kaunis väri ja laadukas lanka. Olen neulonut tästä langasta Kuohu-paidan ja siitä tuli lämmin, pehmeä ja ilmava. Hieman haastetta neulomiseen tuo paksujen puikkojen ja ohuen langan yhteensovittaminen, mutta onnistuu kyllä kun saa sopivan otteen tekemiseen. Aluksi lanka tuntui karhealta neuloessa, mutta käytössä valmis neule tuntuu mukavan pehmoiselta ihoa vasten. Upotin valmiin neuleen veteen ja lisäsin vähän villalle ja silkille tarkoitettua pesuainetta, annoin hetken liota, puristelin veden pois ja annoin kuivua pyyhkeen päällä.
Verkkokaupasta ostaminen oli helppoa ja ostos pakattiin välittömästi, vaikka oli joulun aatonaatto. Ihanaa että vaikka ostin pdf-ohjeen, sain sen myös paperisena lankojen mukana.
Todella tyytyväinen. Paksu ja lämmin viileään säähän. Voi hyvin käyttää myös kaulan ympärillä.
Lahjakortti oli sekä helppo ostaa, että käyttää. Mieluisa tuote löytyi selkeiden nettisivujen kautta helposti.
Kaunis ja pysyy hyvin päässä kovallakin tuulella. Saisi kyllä olla hiukan reilumpi kooltaan aikuiselle naiselle. Näin sanoi 56-vuotias nainen, joka sai myssyn lahjaksi!
