This women's natural light grey Jäkälä Lato Sweater is hand-knitted in the world's Myssy capital, Pöytyä, by Myssy Grannies using 100% Finnsheep wool. The color is a natural mix of different colors of wool.

The Lato sweater is a true Finnish sweater, timeless and free of any patterns or twists—just straight, clean lines. Sweaters made from Finnsheep wool are especially suited for spring. The wool insulates warmth but also breathes in warmer weather, making it the perfect garment for ever-changing conditions!

Note: Since each sweater is hand-knitted to order, this is a custom-made product with an estimated delivery time of around four weeks.

Production

The Lato sweater is made from 100% Finnsheep wool. The wool is sourced from Finnish sheep farms, and it is spun and washed in Finland. The yarns are hand-dyed at Myssy headquarters.

All our products are knitted by local retired ladies, known as Myssy Grannies. You can check your own Myssy to see who knitted it and learn the story of its maker!

The knitting shirt is supposed to be loose. Choose a size with a chest approximately 12 cm larger.

All our garments are made of 100% Finnsheep wool and dyed by hand here at our Farm. Wool is a natural material that keeps itself clean. The lanolin - wool’s grease - naturally repels both dirt and water, hence it is not necessary to wash your Myssy garments. 

You can freshen up your garment by airing it out. However, if your Myssy product does get dirty or stretches out, it can be carefully hand-washed or machine-washed with a high-quality wool program. The garment should be dried flat and shaped while still wet. This way the product will recover its original appearance. Use special wool detergent.

Note: Myssy products cannot be washed in regular low-temperature washing machine programs. Only a high-quality wool program is acceptable for washing your Myssy, this way the water temperature is increased in proper increments, and the garment won’t get felted.
