This stone grey Kalikka Ahti beanie is hand-knitted by Myssy Grannies in Pöytyä Finland from 100% Finnsheep wool. The color is a natural mix of different colors of wool.

Wool is a naturally water-repellent material and our yarns contain lanolin, the natural grease of the wool, making the Ahti beanie particularly good for wet conditions. This grey color is certainly our best selling color of all times and suits well almost everyone.

Ahti is a true Fisherman’s beanie.

In the Finnish mythology Ahti was the heroic god of the sea. The god of fishermen and seal hunters had the form of a bearded man with a gown made out of foam.

Product information
All of our garments are made from Finnsheep wool, produced in conjunction with our responsible partners. Similar in softness to Merino, the fiber's overlapping scales point inward making the yarn particularly soft, and in our opinion, there is no finer wool in the world!

High quality garments and accessories are hand-knit by local retired ladies known as The Myssy Grannies. These cheerful ladies are the essence of our brand, knitting their own positive energy and wisdom into every stitch, even hand signing each Myssy piece they finish.

Size
This Myssy is One Size / M and it fits 85% of our customers. It fits well for hat sizes between 54 to 59 cm. Each Myssy is unique, and though all our grannies work off from the same size chart, not all hats are precisely the same.

All Myssy hats should feel a little tight in the beginning, the hat adjusts to the size and shape of your head within the first week of use.

If you are unsure of the size or you know you will need a larger size, you can always leave a comment while sending your order in and let us know you would like to have a bigger variation. We will do our best to take this into account!
Huolto-ohjeet

All our garments are made of 100% Finnsheep wool and dyed by hand here at our Farm. Wool is a natural material that keeps itself clean. The lanolin - wool’s grease - naturally repels both dirt and water, hence it is not necessary to wash your Myssy garments. 

You can freshen up your garment by airing it out. However, if your Myssy product does get dirty or stretches out, it can be carefully hand-washed or machine-washed with a high-quality wool program. The garment should be dried flat and shaped while still wet. This way the product will recover its original appearance. Use special wool detergent.

Note: Myssy products cannot be washed in regular low-temperature washing machine programs. Only a high-quality wool program is acceptable for washing your Myssy, this way the water temperature is increased in proper increments, and the garment won’t get felted.
