There is one theme to describe Myssy AW23 collection that is the sense of community. It’s time to get together! So we all gathered at the local club house Kyntäjäntupa for kind of an art camp and started to play. And what a party did it turn out to be!

Ilmatar Hat

Of all the Myssy novelties of season Ilmatar is the one that will take the stage! In Finnish folklore Ilmatar was a divine maiden living up in the sky. This special airy, fluffy and soft hat can be worn as a bucket hat or edges turned as a brim hat. It has been handknitted and geared of bulky Finnsheep wool here in Pöytyä.

Hohto Hood

Shine like the fields of Aura river valley! Once upon a time there was a very special winter weather that made everything shimmer in a soft light surrounded by a rare winter mist. On an exceptionally cold day like this you should wrap yourself in a soft and fluffy woolly hood hand-knitted and traditionally geared here in Pöytyä. The word hohto means shimmer in Finnish.

Pipa

Here we go! Pipa is the beanie of all beanies, over and out. We took all the best features of our past year bestsellers and combined them in one Myssy that will make you look like no one else. This beanie has been mastered by the world’s leading knitting artisans and is the new base for our capsule collection. Pipa is a slang word from Tampere meaning “a beanie” and all beanies in this collection have been named after districts of Tampere.

Kyrö Original

This is Kyrö Original, the most urban beanie in rural Pöytyä. The sophisticated soft Finnsheep wool surface of it has been carded with traditional methods here in Pöytyä. It keeps surprising us what we are capable of making out of this material! Kyrö is also the most urban village of ours with excellent services, a train station soon-to-be-opened - and the one and only official zip code for Myssy.

Puhuri

Hearing the word Puhuri any Finn will instantly think of a winter storm. According to Finnish folklore Puhuri was the spirit of cold and winter, the father of frost. This classy and short Fisherman style beanie has some special energy blowing in it, but as all of our collection, it can be worn all year round.

Sivakka

This Sivakka collection is a true winter classic. Back in the day the Finnish winter was full of events called “talvikisat” - winter competitions. They would have a special beanie stating the name of the event and colors that were the hottest of the year. This collection has been inspired by the collection of Tahto - the national sport museum of Finland.

Hanki Beret

There are so many words in Finnish for snow and is the word hanki means a blanket of snow in Finnish. This soft, bulky and fluffy beret looks like it was brushed with snow. However, you can wear Hanki beret all year round. It was hand knitted and geared here in Pöytyä to give the Finnsheep yarn a special sophisticated surface. We are so excited over this new creation of ours, you have not seen a Finnwool knitwear like this before!

Sysi is a minimalistic brushed bucket hat collection. This bucket hat was inspired by the Finnish courage and saying “syteen tai saveen”. No matter what will happen we are proud of our accomplishments and will stand united. Now or never.

Koskela Scarf

This scarf cascades like a rapid, “koski” in Finnish. There is something fascinating in the rapids of Aura river, nature is showing all its power and making the brownish water froth white. This scarf holds both volume and power, but is light and soft to wear. Handknitted and geared in Pöytyä from the softest Finnsheep yarn, this is the most perfect scarf we can imagine. The original inspiration for this scarf came from Koskela rapid with a wooden mill dating back to the 19th century - located next to our headquarters.
