Kuurna, a traditional ski hat
“Hyvä on hiihtäjän hiihdellä” is a legendary Finnish poem by Eino Leino saying “It's good for the skier to ski”. This ski-spirited collection carries the authentic spirit of Pöytyä’s after ski culture. In case you didn't know, our parents skied to school in unbroken snow all winter long - and according to a local legend, some in the summer as well.
Kuurna means the longitudinal track in the bottom of a ski. Kuurnamaa is a family-owned sempiternal forest where these photos where taken. In Finnish, there are so many words for both snow and skis, but not a single one for after ski.
